FORK is designed to be temporary. Photographs are lit by existing kitchen lights and captured with a cellphone camera. Though each photo is titled with the artist’s intention, the works are open to interpretation, to draw focus on the nature of abstract art as both limited and open. The work uses plastic forks which are disposed of immediately after.
The clearest way of understanding the work is to consider it a statement upon the temporary artistic engagement, something which can inspire thought and yet last only a moment. It is not a work to be permanently installed. It is a work which can be replicated by any other artists (under a creative commons license which requires only credit to the original artist) without budget or the necessity for particular equipment.
